MISCELLANEOUS

Thank You
On Thursday November 29, 2013, a Gala Dinner & Charity Auction took place at the Hotel Hassler in Rome. This event, aided by TFOS, was a fundraiser to support the Italian Blind and Visually Impaired People Association. This organization, founded by Roberto Wirth, is dedicated to helping deaf and blind children from birth to 6 years of age, as well as their families. The Association provides services, programs and professionals to address the childrens’ needs until they attend school (http://www.cabss.it/). Thank you to all the TFOS guests who were able to attend, despite the torrents of rain & flooded roads of Rome!

Giuseppe Castronovo, President, International Association for the Prevention of Blindness, Italy
Fabrizio Chines, Chairman, SIFI
Giorgio Silvestri, Secretary, Unione Italiana dei Ciechi e degli Ipovedenti ONLUS

Scientific World Journal
There is an upcoming issue of the Scientific World Journal with a special issue on dry eye syndrome, entitled. “Dry Eye Syndrome: Diagnosis, Mechanisms, and Therapies.” Drs. Anat Galor, Bennie Jeng, Stephen Pflugfelder and Remigio Lopez Solis are guest editors for this issue and request that TFOS Members submit papers for possible inclusion. The link to submit a paper is: http://www.hindawi.com/journals/tswj/si/192356/cfp/
